CARPENTER BEE KIT
1.) Includes: 1 pound of Delta Dust, 1 Duster, 2 ft. Plastic Hose, 20 ft. Backer Rod 1 Tube of Energy Seal, 1 Pair Latex Gloves, 1 Dust Mask.
2.) Carpenter Bees prefer to tunnel in weathered bare wood, they will however attack wood that is stained or thinly coated with paint. To control existing populations you must find and treat each nest sight. Check carefully for the entrance holes on the backside of fascia boards, the underside of decks and railings and other protected wood surfaces other signs to help find the nest.
- Coarse sawdust -like substance below the entry of the hole.
- Yellow-Brown fecal drips on the wood just below the entry hole.
- Woodpeckers trying to reach the larvae in the galleries.
Burrowing sounds from the female bee that sounds like a vibration on the wood surface.
3.) Instructions:
CAUTION: Please read, Understand and follow all precautionary statements and warnings included with the Drione insecticide before attempting to use.
Wear latex gloves and dust mask when loading or dispensing Delta Dust. Fill duster 2/3 full of Delta Dust, replace rubber fill cap on duster securely, invert duster so fill cap is on the bottom thus keeping dust from clogging the nozzle.
Should the dust become clogged, remove the brass screw on the plug, using the clean out extinction attached to the plug, clear out any clogs from nozzle.
Insert nozzle or extinction tube into area to be treated and gently pump bellows, put liberal amounts of dust into each carpenter bee hole.
A week or two after the initial dusting, re-dust holes and plug entrance hole with backer rod leaving approximately ‘l4 inch void. Fill void with energy seal; clean any excess energy seal with a damp sponge.
Avoid breathing dust and contact with skin or eyes.
